Finding Connection and Support with a Therapist Who Understands You
Welcome! I'm glad you're here. As a therapist, I believe that one of the biggest factors in your therapeutic growth and change is your connection with your therapist. It's not just about the credentials and degrees; it's about finding someone who truly gets you and can guide you through your struggles. And that's exactly what I strive to provide to my clients.
I want this post to help you decide if we'll work well together, so let me tell you a little bit more about myself. Yes, I have the resume-type stuff - I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, supervised by Amy Hutchinson LPC-S, RPT-S. I earned my Masters in Counseling from West Texas A&M in 2022, and my Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Arizona State University in 2016. But more importantly, I want you to know what inspires me to work with clients.
I love working with clients who are going through struggles because I've been there. I know what it's like to feel stuck and hopeless, and I know how hard it is to find your way out of that darkness. But I also know that it's possible, and I believe that you have the resilience and strength to make it through. I'll be there every step of the way to guide you and provide support.
I also understand the importance of feeling your feelings without intellectualizing or avoiding them. When the going got tough for me, I used to intellectualize - it's my favorite defense mechanism. But I've learned that feeling your emotions is essential for healing and growth. And I'm happy to pass on that knowledge to you so that you can avoid wasting time and spinning your wheels.
I work best with people who are tired of being unhappy and are ready to make changes. I'm not the smile and nod therapist; I'm the therapist who will roll up my sleeves and get in there with you. I have a great BS detector, and I'm not afraid to talk about anything you need to talk about. Sex? Money? Cellulite? Feeling entitled? Constipation? Let's get it all out; there's nothing to be ashamed of.
And for those who are specifically looking for in-person sessions, I want you to know that I offer my services to Corpus Christi, Texas residents. I know the benefits of in-person sessions, including the comfort and ease of talking to someone face-to-face. But I also offer virtual sessions to clients anywhere in Texas, so you can receive the support you need no matter where you are.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a therapist who truly understands you, who will roll up their sleeves and work with you to create positive changes, and who offers both in-person and virtual sessions, I'm here for you. Let's work together to find the connection and support you need to thrive.
