    Privacy

All records stay within the practice unless you explicitly request it or I receive a court subpoena for it. You will be notified of any request.

    Tailored Care

Need a two hour session? Done. Need to be seen multiple times a week? No problem. Without insurance controlling your care, we can tailor it to your needs.

    Control Over your Care

No Diagnosis Required. Insurance companies require a diagnosis from a therapist in order to reimburse. If I don't feel your treatment requires a diagnosis, I don't give one, simple.

    Insurance

I am currently an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance. However, you may still qualify for reimbursement of sessions if you have Out-of-Network Benefits. I will provided you with the necessary documentation (superbills) to submit to your insurance.

    Why don’t you take insurance?

There are major disadvantages to using insurance to cover the cost of therapy. Going through insurance gives companies control over your therapeutic process. It’s up to them whether you need therapy at all, and if so, how much and how often.

Insurance companies would require me to give you a diagnosis, which may be unfair to you. I may not have thoroughly assessed you enough to give you an accurate diagnosis, or I may need to change it later. I need to report these diagnoses to insurance companies, which means less privacy for you. Sometimes insurance can decide you don’t need therapy anymore and pull the plug, resulting in an abrupt end to therapy. This can be harmful and actually cause worsening of symptoms, depending on where you are in treatment.

In summary, not working with insurance means we keep your therapy where it belongs:

In my office, not in that of an insurance company. So it gives you greater control and privacy. It also gives you predictability, knowing exactly what each session will cost.

Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

    Payment

I accept cash & all major credit cards.

    Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
